Materials Collection Criteria
Follow the guidelines below to make sure you Keep the Green Clean!
Many items labeled as "compostable" do not completely compost in all commercial operations. New items have been tested and compost successfully in the required timeframe for Silver Springs Organics' system.
Manufacturers that wish to have their products tested in order to be considered for this list may contact Silver Springs directly. See below for commonly acceptable materials.

*CAUTION: Paper food containers with a shiny or slick surface are prohibited because they have a thin plastic layer/lining (poly-coat) on them. They do not compost. These items are recyclable through other companies.
WHEN IN DOUBT - THROW IT OUT!
Food waste collected and hauled in a stationary compactor is prohibited from acceptance at Silver Springs Organics and will be rejected prior to offloading.
